Let us go to Russian Hill.As many people as there were standing around with their cameras it was very clear where we were.
So viele Menschen, die dort mit dem Fotoapparat stehen ist schon klar, wo wir sind.Auch, dass aus der Cable Car alle in die gleiche Richtung gucken, macht es schnell klar.
As all the passengers of the cable car watched to the same direction it was clear where we were.Lombard Street.
Lombard Street.Nur dass wir sie nicht so schnell runterfahren, wie Barbra Streisand und Ryan O'Neill damals bei "Is was Doc???".
But we were not going so fast like Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neill did it then in "What's Up Doc???".We were surprised to see some streakers running downhill.
Zu unserer Überraschung werden wir von ein paar Flitzern überholt.Dianne und Vikki meinen jedoch, dass das noch harmlos sei... Freitag Abend würden die nackten Radfahrer kommen... Heute ist doch Freitag...

Few more shots at the foot of Lombard Street and we learned there was another winding road: Vermont Street but less attractive for tourists.
Nach ein paar Fotoaufnahmen am Fuße der Lombard Street, lernen wir, dass es noch eine weitere Serpentinenstraße in San Francisco gibt: Vermont Street, aber sie ist für Touristen nicht so attraktiv.Danach fahren zur Filbert Street, die im Gegesatz zur Lombard Street, sogar 4,5% mehr Steigung. Eine weitere Straße ist noch steiler, allerdings nur für Fußgänger.
Thereafter we got to Filbert Street which had 4.5% more inclination than Lombard Street. Another road was steeper but only for pedestrians.We felt like in "The Streets of San Francisco" with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas or "Bullit" with Steve McQueen.

Dianne presented us the little details of the single houses.They remembered very much to Europe. After one voyage they asked their architects to build their house like they appreciated it in Europe. So you find next to each other: Victorian, or Edwardian or Mediterranean construction style.
Sie erinnern sehr an Europa. Denn nach einer Reise wurde der Architekt beauftragt ein Haus hier so zu bauen, wie man es in Europa schätzen gelernt hat. So findet man hier direkt nebeneinander: viktorianische, oder edwardianische oder mediterrane Baustile direkt nebeneinander.Da heute Freitag ist, ist das der klassische Tag, an dem die Gärten in Ordnung gebracht wurden. Durch die Hanglage muss man z. T. mehrere Stockwerke überbrücken, um die hintere Seite des Grundstücks zu erreichen.

Beim Palace of the Fine Arts haben wir Pech: es steht so unglücklich im Gegenlicht.Bessere Aufnahmen gibt es nicht - so fahren wir schnell weiter unter die Golden Gate Bridge und können von dort aus die Skyline von San Francisco sehen.
No better pictures could be made - so we continued quickly under the Golden Gate Bridge and could see from there the skyline of San Francisco.
Only few feet seperated us from the bridge.
Bis auf wenige Meter kommen wir an die Brücke ran.Der Sand ist eine Folge des Tsunamis nach dem Erdbeben in Japan am 11.03.2011.
The sand was a consequence of the Tsunami after the earthquake in Japan on March 11, 2011.
Just in case you are surprised that Fisherman's Wharf was no part of our: Vikki and Dianne had the order to show us anything else but Fisherman's Wharf. They did their job very well and the next time we would definately book them again such a tour. It was only a little more that the usual tickets for HoHo-Bus-tours but taylor-made. They deserve an A+.
Falls ihr euch wundert, warum Fisherman's Wharf bislang nicht dabei war: Vikki und Dianne hatten den Auftrag uns alles andere zeigen, aber nicht Fisherman's Wharf. Das haben sie super gemacht und auf jeden Fall werden wir das nächste Mal wieder bei denen eine Tour buchen. Es war wirklich nur ein klein bisschen teurer als die üblichen Karten für HoHo-Busse, aber genau auf unsere Bedürfnisse abgestimmt. Sie verdienen eine 1+.Übrigens gab es zum Nachlesen noch ein paar Blätter über die Orte die wir besucht haben und für mich eine musikalische Erinnerung an San Francisco.
By the way: for double checking at home what we saw today we got some sheets aobut the places we saw and for me a musical souvenir of San Francisco.
